The master of weaves, KALKI Fashion is once again happy to hang their hats at the Bombay Times Fashion Week for the fifth time in a row. To bring to the forefront their genius, their latest runway collection is titled as ‘Mehrang’ – A Traditional Eden. The event will be held on 12th October 2019, on Saturday at the St. Regis, Mumbai from 5.30pm onwards. Bollywood’s golden girl, Aditi Rao Hydari will sashay down the ramp with her unforgettable appeal as the showstopper for the exclusive collection.
A quaint getaway, a modern conception with a vintage romance, KALKI unveils its coveted bridal couture collection ‘Mehrang’- a Traditional Eden! This fall, the collection brings out classic-yet-contemporary heirloom-worthy-pieces with hand-embroidered archives.
With berry pinks and vivid mellow yellows popping up throughout the collection, mosaic teal blues, neo-mints & midnight blues will reign as the bridal color of choice this season. From the lightest, barely-there champagne to hand-beautified romantic wines to ombré dessert flairs, the design elements will bring the the beauty of autumn to your wedding stationery.
Marrying the old school nostalgia, the collection offers ethereal fish cut gowns to hand-studded embossed lehengas. Tulle dhoti sarees, tailored jackets, slit skirts & no-sleeve cape styles will officially have their moments in the collection. While the sexy, off-shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere, the full-grown tulip-mirror embroideries will jump into the mix.
From a relatively discreet hand-chorded bodice to down-to-the-floor jade motifs, velvet patches will be a “thing” for bridal in the collection.
Designers played with sheer fabrics ranging from embellished, modesty cutout panels to crepe drapes also teamed the opulent raw silks with pretty organza dupattas.
