A plus size parade the nation is stunned with, happened at Fakme Fashion Week 2019 as Rina Dhaka’s aLL- The Plus Size show ended with the two perfect show stoppers- Delnaaz Irani and Vahbiz Dorabjee

The industry swam in big waves of fashion as Rina Dhaka with ‘all- The Plus Size’ set her ramp up for the catwalk to remember at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2019 making the fifth day etched in the memory of everyone present to watch the show. Her choice of the colour palette to the models flaunting their curves as comfortable as ever, to the final walk by the queen of curves, Delnaaz Irani accompanied by the stunning Vahbiz Dorabjee. The aLL Primero collection, the couture range from aLL offered a vast array of fashion options for men and women keeping in mind contemporary fashion stories, complementing different plus-size customers of varying body types. Whether it was the Apple, Pear, Hourglass, Rectangle or Carrot figures, the looks were ideal for all occasions and festivities making the show a treat to watch and giving goals to the skinny models.

The Plus Size Parade declares a culture of body positivity, where your body is beautiful just as it is, without manipulation of your weight or shape or size. Plus size actresses, Vahbiz Dorabjee in a white uneven dress and shimmering stilettoes with pink make up and nails & Delnaaz Irani in an embroidered dress clinched at the waist with longish tassels in the prints picked from ancient styles on sepia orange, were also seen flaunting their curves on the ramp for aLL’s latest couture line aLL Primero and standing as the flag bearers of Plus Size Army.

Hetal Kotak, CEO of aLL- The Plus Size Store & the designer believe that new trends in fashion should be available to all consumers, plus-size or not! The main reason for runway shows is to showcase/forecast the trends of the season to buyers, which they wish to add to their collection, and aLL at Lakme Fashion Week is doing just that. They are getting trendy fashion to an aspect of consumers that have been ignored for a long time by making use of sustainable products and adding an over all positive outlook to everyday dressing.

Rina Dhaka’s fashion story had color, style, and practicality that will appeal to a wide spectrum of buyers, real women with natural bodies. The customers buying aLL Primero will wear exclusive fashion pieces, straight off the runway which will flaunt curves, accentuate the silhouette of a plus-size customer and widening the horizons of good fashion.

The designer brought a variety of prints with ombré tie-dye, soft plaid, linear floral, subtle stripes or temple flowers that were highlighted with contrast topstitching, tie-ups, and buttons. The silhouettes were kept elegant, and simple with drapes and wide construction with angular or asymmetrical lines. A hint of tribal elements appeared as intricate details were seen for blouses that were ornamented with fringes, tassels, pom-poms and patched perfectly to make a perfect style statement.

Colors showed a vibrant palette with lilac, fuchsia, mustard, ivory for women with day to evening wear separates in quick succession. The beautiful prints & flawless silhouettes, made the curvy models look absolutely stunning on the ramp! Men’s wear had great fashion options with shirts (some with concealed plackets), baggy cargoes, yoked tunics and sleeveless waistcoats. The men’s color story was strong and masculine with graded shades of brown, grey and black. At times there was a quirky grunge look with hints of bling and metallic effects along with plissé and jacquards.

Denim made an appearance for the apparel in different washes with layers and over prints that were fashioned into loose blouses, shirts, boyfriend jackets and general oversized silhouettes making the show stand out with not just the foreword idea but with great sense of fashion and classy sense of styling.

The designer challenged her own self and pushed beyond her own boundaries as a distinct democratic thrust for fashion at the show was seen that broke staid norms like the previous three editions of aLL show at the Lakme Fashion Week. The aLL Primero Rina Dhaka collection this season has raised the bar high for plus size fashion, adding body positivity to the bucket list of many with her absolutely desirable fashion collection at LFW 19 making her fourth year a memorable one.
