Designer Falguni Shane’s, pink city got more Royal with the debut of Sara Ali Khan at ICW 2019 by FDCI
Falguni Shane Peacock is inspired by the Fort of Amer and their collection speaks of the “Pink City of Jaipur” in style. But for Peacock, it is a bundle of memories from her latest collection. As the designers walked through the City Palace of Jaipur, they were mesmerized by the detailed work and cuttings and sculptures, these intricacies aren’t easily visible to the naked eye. It’s opulent architecture, comprising of effulgent domes, imperial carvings, nondescript doors, intricate frescos, imposing gateways and paintings that depicted the sublime beauty of the palatial city in its eccentric glory.
The silhouettes are a reflection of modern eccentricity and benevolent style, invoking a posh collection with detailed work of both modern and old school. Magnanimous lehengas colligated into genial gowns, asymmetrical layers heaving into long, sweeping trails, revealing the inner beauty through the graceful fluidity of the garment. The duo presented a range for both bridal as well as post bridal rituals, for both the genders, with the infusing use of hues like lavender fog, Spanish vanilla, pewter, smoke green, ballet pink, scallop shell, prism silver, Tuscan gold and midnight blue.
The leading actress, Sara Ali Khan, walked the ramp like her Pataudi Isle in her Ivory lehenga creating a sensation on the stage. The actress with Falguni’s ramp debuted her first walk in the fashion line. Her co-actor for her upcoming movie, Kartik Aryan and her brother came to support her in the new beginning. “This is my first time on the ramp and I will be a liar if I say I was not nervous. They (designers) were lovely and have given me something lovely to wear. I was very comfortable and had a lot of fun here. Thank you, Falguni and Shane for this wonderful experience. I feel very grateful. I am not nervous anymore,” she said at the post-show press conference.
