Netflix: Mowgli Legend of the Jungle
3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

Jungle Book or the story of Mowgli has remained a crucial part of every kid, who is a grown up now. We all remember those Sundays when we used to sit in front of TV screens and watch movies like Jungle Book, Lion King etc. Netflix has come up with Mowgli: legend of the jungle, a remake of Jungle book again and it is amazing. It is available in both in Hindi and English. We are going to review the Hindi dubbed Netflix’s Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. It is directed by Andy Serkis.

The story is same with with great visuals and graphics. We believe that it should have been released on the big screen. So, the story begins with the regime of Sher Khan in the jungle killing so many humans, but Mowgli survives this. He is then picked up by a peck of wolves who accept them. Wolves Nisha and Vihaan become the parents of Mowgli. Akela, the head of wolves challenges Sher Khan, that he won’t let him even touch Mowgli till the time he is alive. Mowgli then grows up with these wolves. Make friends with Baghera and is taught by Baloo. Baloo teaches other wolves also. But since, Mowgli is a man-cub, there is a continuous struggle for him to find acceptance among these wolves. After some conflicts, he is asked to join the humans. He is taught how to use knife. He stays with a hunter, whose mission is also to kill Sher Khan. And in the end, Mowgli gains all the courage and challenges Sher Khan and kills him eventually. As a result, he is made the head of peck of wolves by Akela, before his Death. This story is narrated by the python, Kaa, who seem to have seen the past and future of the jungle.

The voice for Sher Khan is given by Jackie Shroff. Madhuri Dixit and Kareena Kapoor Khan has given voiceovers for Nisha and Kaa. Anil Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan’s voice for Bagheera and Baloo has turned out to be in favor of the characters. We also get to see Freida Pinto playing the role of a human in the village. The character of Mowgli is played by Rohan Chand. Originally, the movie has the voiceovers of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris.

The film looks great in direction, screenplay, background score, voiceovers and everything. It will definitely give you a nostalgia of your beautiful memories of childhood. But it will also make you miss, Jungle Jungle Baat Chali hai.
