Anu Malik afflicted by Me Too Tsunami
You will no longer be able to see him dancing, crooning or shouting ‘Aag Laga Dega’ from the dais of Indian Idol now. Musical Maestro Anu Malik remains the recent celebrity to bear brunt of Me Too tsunami This comes in the wake of sexual harassment allegations leveled against him.
In a statement released by Sony TV today Singer, music composer Anu Malik will no longer judge the reality show Indian Idol. The show will continue according to the planned schedule. We will invite biggest names in Indian music as guests to judge the extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10. The guest will join Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar.
This is to be noted that ace music composer was recently accused of sexual harassment. The charges were by Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra, following suit other two survivors also came forward with their horrifying tales and experience caused by Anu Malik.
Me Too movement has caught its momentum in India very rapidly and many heads have been rolled already. Bollywood actresses Tanushree Dutta, Dia Mirza, Himani Shivpuri, and Malaika Arora Khan have supported the movement.
Bearing the wrath of Me Too tsunami in India have been ace Bollywood celebrities Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher, Chetan Bhagat, Sajid Khan, and the counting are growing with every passing day.
From Hollywood, the movement has affected bright prospects and fate of the likes of Kevin Spacey, Aziz Ansari, James Franco, “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner and Louis C.K. They have been accused of inappropriate sexual conduct.
Movement is getting full public support both in India and abroad as a result of which accused are being cornered and particular fraternity is maintaining distance from them. “Me Too” is a grassroots project that started in New York more than a decade ago. Founder Tarana Burke is a victim of multiple sexual assaults.
From Hollywood to Bollywood boulevard Me Too has been exposing dirty misconduct of many bigwigs in the entertainment industry. Avalanche of accusations is flowing thick and this surely doesn’t limit itself to one sector. Looking at the response the movement is getting from people the movement is bound to spread its cover to other segments as well.
