Jaipurites put running shoes on as Jaipur By Nite kick started with nite marathon

6th edition of Jaipur By Nite started with an adrenaline rush as Jaipurites put on running shoes for Jaipur By Nite Marathon. The unique marathon was flagged off from Hotel Clarks Amer  by Mr. Kuldeep Ranka; Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Govt. Of Rajasthan; Princess Diya Kumari, Brand Ambassador, Jaipur By Nite. Lt. General Cherish Mathson, Army Commander, South Western Command; Mr. Anil Saboo, Chairman, CII Rajasthan; Mr. Apurva Kumar, Past Chairman, CII Rajasthan & M.D. , Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur; Mr. Shreyans Kasliwal, Chairman, CII Young Indians; Ms. Kiran Poddar, Chairwomen, IWN Rajasthan; Mr. Anand Mishra, Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan and Mr. Nitin Gupta, Director & Head, CII Rajasthan.

Organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Rajasthan along with Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Rajasthan; Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; Rajathan Khadi & Village Industries Board and Young Indians (YI) and further supported by Department of Archaeology & Museums, Govt of Rajasthan and CII- Indian Women Network Jaipur By Nite is all set to paint the city with fun and excitement.

The event embarked its journey with a musical performance by ‘Toufiq Sabari & Friends’ music band followed by a fun zumba dance session warm-up activity for the runners by Samar Singh of 8 Steps Studio, Jaipur.

The nite marathon began from Hotel Clarks Amer and was divided into two categories which included a 10km run with a timing chip and 5km run without timing chip. 10km run took the route from Hotel Clarks Amer to Rajasthan University (main gate) and back to Clarks Amer while 5km run was from Clarks Amer to OTS Chauraha and back to Clarks Amer. Keeping participants’ safety in mind, organizers provided facilities like water counter, ambulance etc. all over the marathon route. A medical aid counter was also setup at Hotel Clarks Amer.

Defeating everyone in the running game, Mr. Mohit with 33.20 minutes was declared as winner for the 3rd edition of Jaipur By Nite Marathon in Male category where as Mr. Sunil Kumar completed his run in 34.35 minutes and bagged 1st position in the Army category. Outshining everyone was 11 years old Miss Sneha who stood first with 49.19 minutes in the Female category. The winners of the marathon were felicitated with trophies by Mr. Anil Saboo, Chairman, CII Rajasthan, Mr. Anand Mishra, Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan, Mr. Nitin Gupta, Director & State Head, CII Rajasthan, Mr. Shreyans Kasliwal, Chairman, CII Young Indians, Mr. Apurva Kumar, Past Chairman, CII Rajasthan. The marathon showcased great enthusiasm in the participants which made it a successful event.

To witness the beauty and history of Pink City at night, 3rd edition of Jaipur By Nite Marathon was organized where over 2000 participants from 11 different states of India viz. Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan added colors to marathon with their active participation. Jaipurites of all age groups, industry members with their family and children, army officers and jawans, police officials and jawans and marathon runners also took part in the marathon.

Following the marathon, D’Fest -Inter School Dance Competition with Buskers Dance Troupe will be organized on Tuesdays and Wednesday, 28th and 29th August at B.M. Birla Auditorium for which approx 70 entries have been received already. To promote safety and security of women’s in the state, Women Car Rally will take place on Saturday, 1st September followed by a cultural evening with Khadi Fashion Show by International Designer Bibi Russell, Rock Musical Concert by Agnee Band and Bite Fest at the historic City Palace on the final day of the festival i.e. Sunday, 2nd September.
